Lavana FitzgeraldMrs. Lavana K. Fitzgerald is a Certified Financial Planner who brings more than a quarter of a century of investment, real estate syndication and tax planning experience into the Stirling Properties partnership.

At the age of 22, she purchased her first real property in Yellowknife. In eight short years, she accumulated 10 rental properties. In 1971, at age 30, she moved to Calgary and operated the largest newsstand in Western Canada. By 1979, she had her real estate license, learned to analyze and sell commercial real estate and earned her Fellow of the Real Estate Institute certification. This is equivalent to a Masters degree in any other discipline.

She bought her first multifamily property in 1980. The building was a 23 unit, 3 storey complex. The purchase included conventional financing and a vendor take-back. The property had positive cash flow from day one.

Her career in the field of wealth building began in 1981. Employment during that time includes a term at a private merchant bank that raised venture capital and promoted tax shelters. She also worked as an outside auditor for Clarkson and Gordon, an accounting firm that later became part of the international firm Ernst & Young.

In 1987, Mrs. Fitzgerald became one of the first 53 Registered Financial Planners in British Columbia. She also spent time as a Registered Representative for the sale of securities, derivatives and futures. Lately she had become proficient in the arena of foreign exchange trading and has learned ways to manage currency risk.

Mrs. Fitzgerald co-founded and managed Tax Lien Consultants, a U.S. real estate cash flow Limited Partnership with liens on properties valued at more than $15,000,000 at the time. She went on to co-found and manage Stirling Bond in 1998 where she currently applies her vast knowledge and experience to help investors build wealth with solid, proven strategies.

Stirling Bond is still active in the field of wealth accumulation and management.

In December 1999, Mr. Poli and Mrs. Fitzgerald were sole shareholders of the General Partner of a Limited Partnership formed to secure interests in certain oil and gas exploration and development opportunities by means of a unique technology and the technical expertise of Mr. Jim Durward. The Limited Partnership units were converted to shares in a company that subsequently became a publicly traded company (Unitech Energy Resources Inc). A number of well known oilmen became majority shareholders of that company.

Currently, Mrs. Fitzgerald and Mr. Poli own or have interest in multiple properties in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. Some of the properties are self-managed while others are in rental pools managed by professional managers.
